The 15U Blue Metro Stars won their 3rd tournament in a row, finishing their season by taking top honors in the Big Bat Bash in Commerce, MI.  The Stars were undefeated on the weekend, taking the final 2-1 over the Allen Park Junior Jaguars in a tense game that ended in grand fashion for the good guys in the bottom of the last inning when Alex Lambropoulos scored from 2nd on Jake Onstott’s 2-out hit.  Great job, Boys!

Pool play included a 6-2 win over Morrice, a tough 6-5 loss to the Mustangs, and a 11-5 comeback win over the Blackman Bandits that included an 8-run (and 3-triple) inning.

All 3 games were tight, with one extra-inning affair and the other two tied before late game-winning rallies.  Go Stars!

In the tournament, the boys got off to a slow start but then quickly turned it around and never looked back! They capped off an excellent tournament and an excellent tournament season by beating the Grand Rapids Flames in the championship game, 8-3. Overall in tournament play, the boys were 19-2 in four tournaments, with three championships and a runner’s-up finish. Great job, Stars!!
